The Two Wolves
My husband Marc Riddell has an ancestral past with the Iriquois nation (Mohawk Tribe) and we enjoy exchanging stories from our heritage.
Here is one pertaining to these upcoming classes.
An old Chief is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego."
"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith."
"This is the same fight that is going on inside you and inside every person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
"It depends on which you feed!" he remarked.
As you reflect on the characteristics presented for the evil wolf, you may find that you have mimicked some of these traits from some of the leaders whom you are emulating.
As you reflect on the characteristics presented for the good wolf, you may be aspiring to build more of these values into your business and leadership style. Modern Leadership contains more of the latter traits than the former.
So it is, that all participants will master those and in so doing will find themselves:
If you believe you are ready to master change in a leaderful manner, don't delay. Take action at 484.769.2327 or kayte@essentialsofmodernleadership.com.
